Self Defense Program

Colleges often offer a self-defense class?

Is it common for universities to offer a class for self defense? Like karate, capoeira, or something? Or do I have to subscribe to another program or institution other than the university? The trick is that I want to learn these things when I go to college (Since I can not at this time) and I really do not want to enroll in a beginning class for young children to fight. Lol. But … if so, then I will. Of However, all responses are appreciated. Thanks!

The disadvantage is that often, instructors are also students with little education. If you're lucky, but be careful, you can get instructions magnificent.
